This training is aimed towards providers and their clinical teams in Oregon and Southwest Washington who are interested in learning more about Rapid Start for HIV treatment. Immediate antiretroviral therapy (ART) or “Rapid Start” refers to “starting HIV treatment as soon as possible after the diagnosis of HIV infection, preferably on the first clinic visit (and even on the same day the HIV diagnosis is made).”

Facilitated by Paul DenOuden, MD

Paul DenOuden is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who has been specializing in HIV/AIDS care for over 20 years. He was previously Medical Director of both a large HIV clinic and an HIV hospice in Los Angeles. He is currently Site Medical Director of Multnomah County HIV Health Services Center.
